Vertical Aviary

Meadowlands, New Jersey.

The challenge at hand was to design a radical bird aviary, where people birds and native vegetation can coexist. The design challenges a typical horizontal aggravation of space with a vertical one. As the partially open air structure stands as a point of refuge for birds during their migration. The tower serves as a place to view, interact with art, to perch, play and experience with native species.
